How Jesus Helped Me Pass When I Nearly Gave Up (My Exam Testimony)

Hi there! Are you doing good? I hope you find yourself in good spirits as I share my story of how I cleared NET.

After completing my Masters in English, my parents enrolled me in a NET class. You know, it was also the time I was dealing with some health challenges, and that made it hard to travel to class every day by bus. My marks at the class also discouraged me from  attending the class. It left me feeling drained and stuck in self-pity. My situation made me feel helpless and I made up my mind that I'm never ever going to clear NET.

But one day, I listened to a testimony broadcasted live through Jesus Redeems — “Jebikkalam Vaanga” (Exam Special), on February 4, 2023. There was an akka named Jishya who shared how Jesus helped her in her exams. I was so moved, and so I decided to try the same.

I asked Jesus to be my team leader. And, in my journal, I wrote down: Team: Jesus & Christo. Motive: Face Everything And Rise.

At first, I struggled to trust God. It felt risky. So, I asked Him to heal me first, but He said:
“My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness.”

That hit me. Although it was challenging, I slowly surrendered to Jesus and asked Him to lead me. I tried studying by myself at home but that never worked. Then  I began attending classes from April 15.

So, while studying, I teamed up with Jesus :)
I put a chair next to me and asked Him to sit with me. I explained what I understood, and He helped me understand what I couldn't. That’s how we studied—together.

I didn’t work super hard, but I did my best. The day before the exam, I fell sick again and completely lost hope. I thought I was going to sit out this exam too. But then I prayed:

“God, if it’s Your will that I should take this test, let me be fine tomorrow. Let me not feel any pain. I’ll go only if I’m fine.”

That night, I gave it to God. And the next morning? I was completely fine :)
I walked into the exam hall with Jesus, asked Him to write the exam with me—and like a perfect team, we wrote it together.

That day, I was just grateful to even show up. A few days later, the answer key was released, but the site was dead slow. I couldn’t check the questions properly, so I just matched the answers by serial number, unaware that the questions were jumbled. I ended up scoring 46/100. I didn’t feel satisfied, but I knew the exam had been really tough. I hadn’t worked hard, so I let it go.

My family and I took all copies of my admit card, placed them in our Bibles, and prayed. Later, we disposed of them, thinking it was over.

One day, right before the result was to be released, I realized I had checked the answers the wrong way. There were now two possibilities:

  1. The score would be below 46
  2. Or maybe around 50, if I was lucky

So yeah... I lost hope again.

The next evening, the results were out. I was so sure I wouldn’t make it. But I prayed:

“God, I know I won’t make it this time. But if I check now, at least I’ll have time to calm down before bed. Let Your will be done, not mine.”

I opened the link. And God was like:

“Buttercup, surprise!!! You are QUALIFIED FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR.

I was startled. Shocked. My hands were shaking in disbelief. My brother was right beside me, and we just couldn’t believe it.

The effort I gave? Just 10%. I barely kept up with my coach’s guidance. But Jesus? He did the 90% for me. We were a team. I gave up too quickly, but He never did. He finished it for me—with the exact pass mark.

He finished it for me. Jesus never fails.
And He never lets me be ashamed.

This is my testimony.

Becoming Real Again ^_^ Dared to be Me!

Making my way out into the world, I found myself wearing masks — trying to fit in, to please, to be liked. I impersonated so many versions of myself that, somewhere along the way, I began to wonder… who even am I, really? The struggle was real. I acted differently with different people, blending in like a chameleon — but inside, I felt blurry. Fragmented. It was like I lost my sense of self. I didn't even know who I was anymore. It felt like I was living a fake life.  And then it hit me: maybe the only way to become real again... is to become like a child again.  “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."   —   Matthew 18:3 This blog is a little piece of that journey. So here I am — slowly, quietly rediscovering the “me” God designed. And while I’m at it, I hope to inspire you to discover the real you too. Not the version the world demands, but ...

Jesus Be my All-in-All

Jesus ,   When trouble and  fear  surround me, protect me and be my  Dad .    When loneliness pays a visit, stay beside me and be my  Best Friend .   When life gets dull and boring, make me laugh and be my  Close Friend .   When I long for company, be my  Brother  and  Companion .   When sickness steals my joy, heal me and be my  Doctor .   When I feel weak, hold my hand and be my  Strength .   When I feel broken, whisper truth and be my  Heart .   When I cry, catch my tears and be my  Comfort .   When I rejoice, dance with me and be my  Delight .   When I want a cuddle, snuggle me close and be my  Soulmate .   When I'm anxious, speak peace into my spirit and be my  Rest .   When I feel restless, give me a tight embrace —  'cause I'm sure Your warmth is what I'll need.   When I feel infatuated, guard my purity by helping me see othe...
