So... who’s Buttercup?

Hii :) I’m Christo Shaly! (But hey, just call me Chris.)

And I’m Buttercup. Okay… not literally—but kinda.
Think of me as the girl who’s walked through a storm or two, sat still with Jesus, and found healing in His whisper.
I’m learning to rest in His love, trust Him deep, and tell the truth about this wild, sacred journey called faith.

I’m a soft soul in a loud world—probably just like you.
This blog? It’s part journal, part walkie-talkie.
A little corner where I spill my heart through stories, prayers, poems, and those “ugh-I-don’t-know-what-to-do-so-I’ll-just-run-into-the-arms-of-my-Beloved-Lord-and-Savior-Jesus-Christ” moments.

I’m here to keep it real. I talk about:

  • Feeling lonely but not alone
  • Learning to be me—even when it’s scary
  • Finding purpose in the mess
  • What it really means to love Jesus when life isn’t all that cute

I’m Gen Z too. I overthink. I cry during worship.
I say “bruh” and “amen” in the same breath. Lol.

So if you’ve ever felt lost in your own skin, tired, unsure, hurting, healing, hopeful, just curious—or feeling like you’re too much or not enough—I get it.
Really. I’ve been there. But here’s the truth:
You are deeply known, wildly loved, and never, ever alone.

This is my lil' corner of the internet.
Me + Jesus = everything.
So stick around, yeah? :)
Let’s run this race with our eyes on Jesus—one soft, surrendered step at a time.

“Those who look to Him are radiant.” — Psalm 34:5

Let’s grow together <3

Becoming Real Again ^_^ Dared to be Me!

Making my way out into the world, I found myself wearing masks — trying to fit in, to please, to be liked. I impersonated so many versions of myself that, somewhere along the way, I began to wonder… who even am I, really? The struggle was real. I acted differently with different people, blending in like a chameleon — but inside, I felt blurry. Fragmented. It was like I lost my sense of self. I didn't even know who I was anymore. It felt like I was living a fake life.  And then it hit me: maybe the only way to become real again... is to become like a child again.  “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."   —   Matthew 18:3 This blog is a little piece of that journey. So here I am — slowly, quietly rediscovering the “me” God designed. And while I’m at it, I hope to inspire you to discover the real you too. Not the version the world demands, but ...

Jesus Be my All-in-All

Jesus ,   When trouble and  fear  surround me, protect me and be my  Dad .    When loneliness pays a visit, stay beside me and be my  Best Friend .   When life gets dull and boring, make me laugh and be my  Close Friend .   When I long for company, be my  Brother  and  Companion .   When sickness steals my joy, heal me and be my  Doctor .   When I feel weak, hold my hand and be my  Strength .   When I feel broken, whisper truth and be my  Heart .   When I cry, catch my tears and be my  Comfort .   When I rejoice, dance with me and be my  Delight .   When I want a cuddle, snuggle me close and be my  Soulmate .   When I'm anxious, speak peace into my spirit and be my  Rest .   When I feel restless, give me a tight embrace —  'cause I'm sure Your warmth is what I'll need.   When I feel infatuated, guard my purity by helping me see othe...
